At the Guggenheim

Happy New Year, everyone! It's been too long. I've been trying to sort out what to do this year, both personally and professionally, while I've been going through the rolls and rolls of film I took while I was in Asia. I'm thinking of taking a second black and white printing class this semester. I'm hoping to be able to get to a point where I'm happy with the prints I'm making, with the ultimate goal of having a small show somewhere. We'll see how it all goes.

This photograph was taken at the Guggenheim while attending the Richard Price show. I had arranged to meet a friend in front of the museum and, knowing she wouldn't be interested, decided to go to the museum early to tour the exhibit. When we met, we ended up going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for tea. I had never been to the cafe before and was pleasantly surprised to find tea on the menu. The tray of snacks was piled high and we gorged ourselves on sandwiches with the crust cut off and scones. In the end, we had to resort to taking our leftovers home.

Here's hoping everyone's 2008 is getting off to a good start. I'll try to start posting more regularly now that I've broken the ice.
