A room with a view, Taipei, Taiwan

I couldn't stop taking this photo. In Taiwan, I was staying with my friend Ed. He had rented an apartment for the duration of his studies, and he offered me his guest room. This was the view outside his living room.

Every morning I would stare out the window to the street below to watch the city wake; every night I would stare out the window at the quiet streets. I found myself taking photos at various times of day and in various weather conditions. I couldn't stop staring out. Even so, it took me a while to notice the motorcyclist icon indicating where motorcyclists could congregate while waiting on a light.

I think my favorite detail is the Hello Kitty in the window of the apartment across the street.
