Design and the Elastic Mind at MoMA

Months ago I attended the opening of this show at MoMA. A friend had invited me, and I was eager for a preview of the works on display. As it turns out, the exhibit was incredibly crowded, and there was a long wait to even reach the floor upon which it was installed. Still, it was great catching up with my friend and seeing the exhibit. I had meant to return, but didn't get the chance. I did buy the exhibition catalogue, though.

Unfortunately, the exhibit is now over, but the online exhibit is still available. And by way of introduction, from the MoMA site:

Design and the Elastic Mind . . . focuses on designers' ability to grasp momentous changes in technology, science, and social mores, changes that will demand or reflect major adjustments in human behavior, and convert them into objects and systems that people understand and use. The exhibition will highlight examples of successful translation of disruptive innovation, examples based on ongoing research, as well as reflections on the future responsibilities of design.

I quite like the near silhouette forms against the background of the wall piece. Nice film grain in the mid gamut of tones.

thanks. the metering of this shot came out better than i would have expected actually. if my friend were in this shot i'd think about taking it into the darkroom and seeing what a hand print would look like.
