Midtown newspaper seller, NYC
Remember Newsies? I never saw it. But I remember wondering when it came out whatever happened to the movie musical. There have been a few here and there, but the golden age appears to have passed. Now it seems some people wonder if we're starting to see the decline of the printed newspaper itself. Personally, when I have the time and the foresight to get it, I love spending all sunday morning sitting on the couch surrounded by the New York Times.
I forget where, but I read over the past week about a designer (or someone) who was lamenting that he hadn't created physically anything useful. He pointed to people who designed or produced newspapers and mentioned that at the end of the day you can still wrap fish with them.
This was taken on 42nd Street while waiting for a friend. I stood there for a while, watching as the woman offered papers to passersby. Nearby, touts encouraged tourists to take bus tours of the city.
