Is it the shoes? Soho, New York
One of my favorite advertisements of the 80's was the Spike Lee Mars Blackmon Nike ads with Michael Jordan. I had read about Spike Lee's films and I had really wanted to see She's Gotta Have It and School Daze, especially after learning the latter was a musical. I almost feel like I would watch ball games on tv just to hoping to see the commercial.
Recently, I found myself watching the NBA finals. While the teams were familiar, the players weren't. I followed basketball when I was in high school during the Magic Johnson/Larry Bird Lakers/Celtics matchups, but I haven't really watched it since. I wasn't rooting for either team, and I watched it dispassionately. The game lacked the magic I remember of the past.
I took this photo a while ago. I'm oddly fascinated when I see sneakers dangling from steetlamps.
I recently bought a pair of Adidas Sambas in black leather. I've wanted a pair for a while, and I've wanted a pair of Adidas since Run-DMC rapped about them. The soles are comfortable, but I still have to break them in. They squeeze my feet and the first day I wore them they chafed. Someday they'll be comfortable.
This isn't a coherent story. I think I'm just free associating.
Money it's gotta be the shoes!

I think you didn't buy the right size. Feet should not chafe in sneakers. Thighs chafe, not feet.
The stories that accompany the photos really add something. I like the way the photos appear in a raw, unedited state.
simone » i think i bought the shoes too narrow but they'll stretch once i have the time to do so.
