Girl on subway train, Tokyo
I feel like I could never tire of riding the rails in Japan. The fact that the circle line in Tokyo runs above ground most of the time certainly helps. It's fascinating to see the different areas of the city zoom past the windows. And it's interesting to watch the different people embark and disembark.
I took this picture on one of my jaunts to Shinjuku or Harajuku. I can't remember where I alighted. I spent a lot of time in Tokyo just shuffling between different neighborhoods, lead by my whims. I had already been to Tokyo, and had seen the sights, which left me with the time to wander the streets. A friend in Taiwan had offered me a Tokyo guide book, but I had forgotten to bring it, and so left with the smaller Tokyo section in my Japan guide book I found myself mostly just getting a feel for the city. Another friend had recommended a new development in town which housed a number of galleries, but I never quite got there.
