Ticketing office, Japan

I was somewhat unsuccessful in printing this one in the darkroom, though I like the way it looks on screen. I think I might have to try it again some time.

I'm in the process of trying to ticket another train trip; this one from Moscow to Beijing, with stopovers in Irkutsk and Ulaan Baatur. I've left the planning to rather late stages and I'm worried I won't have enough time to get all my documents in order (and I'm worried that train tickets might sell or have been sold out). It'll be the longest train ride I will have attempted. The leg from Moscow to Irkutsk takes over three days on the fastest train.

A friend went and spent three weeks on the train. He stopped often, and attempted to book tickets along the way. He said few agents spoke English and he was often stranded for a few days waiting for space on available trains. I'm hoping to circumvent that by buying tickets in advance. I seem to be having some difficulty locating the option to purchase third class tickets, however. I may see about reserving second class tickets to see if they're available as well. I already have requests to two agencies in Russia.

Fortunately, I have friends in Moscow and in Beijing, which should alleviate much of the burden of travelling. I'm excited to see Moscow, even more so given the fact that I'll be able to visit a friend there. It's still early stages of planning (though I hope to be leaving second week of September). Wish me luck in getting everything settled!
