Perihod shop, Moscow

Under the wide, multi-laned ring roads of Moscow are pedestrian tunnels called perihods. Shops tend to line one side, selling snacks, electronics, even clothes This particular shop ran near my friend's apartment, and I'd pass this shop every day.

Teresa told me that her friends occasionally had perihod parties, where everything would have to come from the perihods. All refreshments would come from the perihods, and you had to arrive dressed in the latest fashions sold within a period as well. This was easier for women than for men. They talked of having another party while I was in Moscow, but unfortunately it never came to fruition. Instead, I attended a karaoke party where we competed to be the best 'sing star.'
