St. Petersburg canals
I was surprised to find canals running through St. Petersburg. On first view, it reminded me something of Amsterdam, and then Paris in an earlier century. I was surprised by the entire city. The more I walked its streets, the more I felt I was being transported.
This photo was taken from a window in the Hermitage. In a warmer season I might have spent more time out in the streets, or on a boat, but the fall weather proved cold, and I was glad to be indoors.
