Tram, Irkutsk

One of the more exciting aspects of Irkutsk was its use of trams. Moscow had their trolley buses (which was increasingly fun to pronounce in the Russian way), but there was something about the old style trams of Irkutsk that I found very cool. Unfortunatley, when I was leaving for the train station, I crammed myself into a crowded car and was yelled at for not quite understanding that an insepection agent was trying to squeeze on after me. However, the other passengers were kind enough to help me punch my ticket for the inspector.

I took this photo by one of the various stops. I had taken a few shots of the trams, but this was by far my favorite of the bunch. This was before I had the chance to ride one myself. Prior to this I had stuck to the buses.
