Coney Island polar bears, 3/3

I can't remember if it snowed, but I seem to remember flurries. The day never quite broke, although the sun would now and again appear through the clouds later in the afternoon.

Back on the boardwalk we watched as polar bears came and went from the building in which they changed. One woman emerged in a bikini and slowly walked towards the beach. Other than the polar bears there were few people on the beach. Those that were on the boardwalk were dressed in heavy coats and scarves.

The tour continued along the boardwalk, past Astroland, to the Dreamland Roller Rink. We had reached the edge of Astroland and the area was windswept and desolate. Our guide gave a little information about the building and we took some pictures of the group in front of the arched facade. By then we were all chilled to the bone. We cut the tour short and our guide offered to buy us all pizza. We walked away from the beach and soon found ourselves seated around two tables at Totonno's. The dining room was warm and we ordered four pies. The pizza was delicious.
