Brooklyn Bridge, Dumbo
It's getting warmer outside, though the skies are still grey. I took this photo in mid-winter during the first snowstorm I witnessed from Dumbo. I've been working in the area since last summer; this is my first winter in the building.
It's nice being this close to the river. The dining options are limited but given enough time on a sunny day it'd be nice to walk to Chinatown for lunch; also, given the time. During the warmer months I might walk home now and again. Or finally get that bike I've been talking about since I moved to New York.
Just before I took this photo, two tourists stopped to take their photo. They handed me a small digital camera and posed awkwardly. I took the photo and handed the camera back. They looked at the display and thanked me quietly before shuffling off into the storm.

wonderful - I love that coarse b&w. The composition with the curve from LL meeting the bridge's line works form me.
Excellent. I agree on the composition, it led my eyes across the photo back and forward, starting at the bottom right of the frame. I think the toning is perfect as well with that in mind.
thanks all for your comments!
markus » thanks for pointing out the bridge line curve; it's not something i had consciously noticed.
stu » thanks for the comments on the toning. i'm hoping to have similar range in my darkroom prints.
I really like the strength in this shot. A great composition and the monochrome conversion is spot on.
kevin, thanks for the comment! and there wasn't a monochrome conversion involved. i shot this on tri-x, so it was monochrome to begin with. :-)
I like not only the compo but also the treatment. :-)
thanks tetsu! how are things going? haven't chatted in a while!
Beautiful composition!
