The Charles Engelhard Court, Metropolitain Museum of Art, NYC
Back at hte eMet, sculptures both living and not.
I don't often make it to this sculpture court, but I enjoy it when I do. I passed through en route to the Egyptian wing and snapped this from the balcony overlooking the renovated American Wing. I remember one of the first times I visited the wing, and was taken by the facade that greets the visitor upon approach.
In totally unrelated news, last night I hung out with a bunch of friends I met when I first arrived in New York. We were younger then, unmarried, without kids, just beginning to set upon the paths that would lead us to what we would become. It was amazing being together after all this time, having dinner and then decamping to an underground bar with ping pong and pool tables to drink beer and talk over the sounds of a jazz combo pounding away in a corner. Babysitters were procured, and responsibilities were suspended. It was like old times, but we were more comfortable and secure in who and where we are.
I didn't get home until late and didn't get to bed until after three. It's been a while since I've done that and this morning I'm a bit worse for the wear. But it was so worth it.
In other unrelated news, I booked a ticket to Croatia. I'll be travelling the middle two weeks of November. If anyone has any tips on where I should go or things I should not miss, please let me know.

I love the 'interaction' of the people and the statues.
Thanks! I was trying to pick an opportune moment. It's so hard when so many people are walking by at the same time. :-)
