Rovinj, Croatia
Easily one of my favorite cities in Croatia, Rovinj is unfolds as a teardrop spilling into the Adriatic. All roads lead to the Church of S. Eufemia, which watches over the city from its hilltop perch. The cobblestones have all been smoothed by years of foot-traffic, and at night the streets and alleys are given over to the cats which roam its still lanes.
Unfortunately, one of the restaurants I most wanted to sample was closed for the season. It sits just below the church at the end of one of the main streets. I had to make do with some of the other offerings. That said, I had one of the best pizzas I have ever had in a small pizzeria tucked into a bend in the road. The argula was perhaps the freshest I have tasted. And the wine one of the most refreshing.
I could have spent a week just with in the confines of this tiny town, but I had but two weeks to spare for my entire trip. And so I pushed out, out of Istria and on down the coast.

Very nice--love the low perspective and the cat is, of course, a great element
Thanks Christopher! I loved all the feral cats in Croatia. Though they were all really healthy looking and well taken care of!
From your story, Croatia sounds like a great place to visit.
I wonder what that cat is looking at... It's quite intriguing.
Croatia is a pretty cool place to visit. I'd definitely recommend. I can't say what it's like in season tho. I imagine it's a lot more crowded. :-)
I bet the cat is hoping that someone will feed it. :p

Love this image. Well caught. As a Cumbria Wedding Photographer in the UK I am always interested in other photographers captures.

Beautifully illuminated night photography. The cat seated is a perfect element within the composition. Nice shot!
wow! excellent photo! I'll have to check out Rovinj when in Croatia next month!
@crash. What did you think of Rovinj? I might be passing through again next month as I seek to see more of the Balkans.
Cool street scene, really like this.
